'Be still'
Oils and cold wax on canvas
16 x 20 inches
I wanted a soft and quiet atmosphere without too much detail.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/21/1/2/21121570/2000x1495.jpeg?1721576175)
'The dawn reveals'
Oils and cold wax
12 x 16 inch cradled wood panel in an off-white float frame
The mystery of the empty shore, soon to be covered by the incoming tide.
The surface has many layers of paint telling a story of the journey from beginning to end. Creation and destruction like the story of the sea and shore.

'The Watcher'
Oils and cold wax
16 x 20 inch cradled wood panel in an off-white wood float frame
Some things are never meant to be explained. I turned this painting to get a photograph and saw the mark at the top resembling a figure. Now I shall always look for it. I leave the viewer to fill in the rest of the story.

'Be still'
Acrylics on stretched canvas
16 x 20 inches (unframed)
This painting grew from random marks over a warm underpainting. As it progressed I noticed my love of wild places had a strong influence here.

'Abandoned'
Acrylics on a 16 x 20 inch canvas (Unframed)
Shaping the landscape, a play with ideas. I enjoyed returning to the painting to make additional marks

'Shaped by the tide'
Acrylics on a 16 x 20 inch canvas (unframed)
A play with marks and shapes with strong tonal contrast. My interest in desolate places inspired me.

'Exploring the coast'
Acrylics on canvas
16 x 20 inches (unframed)
Feel free to imagine. Shapes and a coastal reference set the scene. I like the tonal differences in the design.

'There is a place'
Acrylics on canvas
24 x 24 inches in an off-white wood frame
Make-believe land...an inner world. I like the shapes and colours.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/20/9/8/20986114/1957x2000.jpeg?1712057811)
'Sunny day'
Acrylics on stretched canvas
16 x 16 inches in an off-white float frame
An abstracted landscape with green and yellow as the main colours with hints of violet. Memories of nature reserves.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/21/1/1/21118486/2000x1990.jpeg?1721309896)
'From sun and rain'
Acrylics on canvas
24 x 24 inches in an off-white wood float frame
A piece with atmosphere.
Might be memories of the Lincolnshire coastline. This piece was changed over and over until I was happy with the outcome.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/20/9/2/20925060/2000x1992.jpeg?1708458508)
'Up the Cliff'
Acrylics on box canvas in an off-white wood float frame
20 x 20 inches
The Lincolnshire land is not all flat. It is a county with many features. A play on abstraction without a direct reference to a place.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/20/9/6/20964129/1988x2000.jpeg?1710841644)
'At dusk'
Acrylics on canvas
16 x 16 inches in an off-white float frame
I like this suggestion of a city skyline. Random marks set the scene with a darker palette and highlights of colour.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/20/9/0/20908010/2000x1981.jpeg?1707478169)
'Night vision'
Acrylics on canvas
20 x 20 inches (float frame)
This strong dark painting has a sense of nighttime. Possibly a city.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/21/1/2/21121602/2000x1993.jpeg?1721576866)
'Dusk and a derelict garden'
Oils and cold wax on canvas in an off-white wood float frame
16 x 16 inches
The sense of nature at twilight. I nearly threw this canvas out...but something about the hidden marks made me keep it. It has a mysterious feeling.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/20/9/8/20986120/1975x2000.jpeg?1712058161)
'Urban lines'
Acrylics on stretched canvas
16 x 16 inches in an off-white float frame
An 'urban landscape' made with a dark palette over a light underpainting. It became a study in shapes and backlighting. I like the suggested shapes of buildings.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/20/3/4/20343053/1996x2000.jpeg?1674234024)
'Glow of recovery'
Oils and cold wax on canvas
16 x 16 inches in an off-white wood float frame
Many layers of paint added, subtracted and scraped. Using cold wax with my oils there is a luminosity and a reveal of the painting's journey.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/21/1/2/21120089/1440x1424.jpeg?1721415605)
'Revealed'
Oils and cold wax on cradled wood panel
10 x 10 inches in an off-white float frame
A gentle picture. Soft colours give me an impression of the fading glory of a wild meadow.
![](https://sites.create-cdn.net/siteimages/74/0/8/740846/21/1/1/21115605/2000x1982.jpeg?1721065418)
'Passing to the other side'
Acrylics on canvas
24x 24 inches in an off-white wood float frame
A painting full of mystery.
Layers of acrylics with under painting visible in places.
